Logistified 2.2 - A New Era of Forecasting, Simpler Than Ever

With this release, we are proud to announce the most significant upgrade in our journey so far: a complete reinvention of forecasting. After analyzing every available solution in the Shopify App Store and studying hundreds of scientific papers, we set out to build forecasting that is not only the most advanced on the market but also the easiest to use.

As founders with years of experience at the market leader in ERP software, we know the complexity that supply chain teams usually deal with. Our goal was to bring this level of professional forecasting to Shopify—without requiring every merchant to have a supply chain department of their own.

🔮 A New Forecasting Core

At the heart of this release lies a completely new forecasting engine.

• Auto Mode: Our system intelligently selects the best forecasting model per variant, continuously updating the choice as more data becomes available. Models include:

  • Average, Moving Average, Linear Regression, Exponential Smoothing, Persistence, Holt, Weighted Recent, Seasonal, and Mixed.

• Dynamic History Periods: The optimal span of historical order data is automatically determined using scientific criteria, ensuring accuracy without manual guesswork.

• Stock-out Awareness: Periods of zero sales due to stock-outs are automatically detected and excluded from your demand history.

This makes forecasting both accessible for beginners and fully configurable for professionals who want to fine-tune every parameter.

⚙️ Smarter Parameters – Redesigned and Expanded

We have restructured how forecasting parameters work, focusing on clarity, flexibility, and supplier integration:

• Lead Time – configurable per supplier, fixed value, or default.

• Pack Size – fully integrated with supplier settings to reflect real-world constraints.

• MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) – sourced directly from suppliers or set manually.

• Holding & Order Costs (new) – enables optimal order quantity calculation by balancing storage and ordering costs.

• Cost-based Optimization (new) – for merchants with reliable cost data, this adds a powerful optimization layer.

• Safety Stock (new) – fully automated calculation per variant, based on demand variability and target service level.

• Target Days of Supply (new) – define exactly how many days of coverage you want to maintain.

• Incoming Quantities (new) – optionally include purchase orders in your reorder calculation to avoid over-ordering.

• Supplier Reliability (new) – automatically calculated from your purchase order history and factored into forecasting.

• Force Majeure Protection (new) – an additional buffer against extraordinary supply chain disruptions.

📊 Views, Variants & Real-Time Feedback

Forecasting now lives in a dedicated Views Page, where you can configure, save, and re-use your setups.

• Every parameter you adjust provides live feedback, making experimentation simple and transparent.

• Table improvements: page size, column sorting, and direction are now saved with your view.

• Forecasts are calculated in real time and displayed in a modernized table built on the latest industry standards.

• Filter logic now supports both AND and OR connections, giving you more control in refining results.

• Exports (new): You can now export forecasts at any level—single variant, the active page, or the entire forecast—directly to CSV or XLSX.

From the forecast table, you can now dive into the Variant Page, which shows detailed KPIs, calculated parameters, model rankings, and a forecasted inventory burndown chart.

🤝 Supplier-Centric Design

Most per-variant settings have been moved to suppliers. Each variant can now have multiple suppliers, with individual lead times, pack sizes, and MOQs. A designated primary supplier provides the default values for forecasting.

• If a supplier shows poor reliability over time, this is reflected in the forecast by automatically increasing safety stock.

• Variants without suppliers are assigned a default supplier, ensuring no variant is left out.

This creates a forecasting setup that mirrors real-world supply chains more accurately than ever.

📑 Purchase Orders – Smarter & Exportable

Our purchase order feature has also been enhanced:

• Supplier reliability scores are automatically calculated from PO history.

• PDF export (new): You can now generate a clean, professional PDF version of your purchase orders—ready to share with suppliers.

🏁 Enhanced Overview & Onboarding

The Overview Page has been restructured with:

• A new Onboarding experience to help new users get up to speed quickly.

• Quick access to your views and purchase orders, reducing clicks and navigation overhead.

With this update, Logistified becomes the only Shopify app that allows forecasting on unlimited historical data, using scientifically validated models in a way that is both powerful and approachable.
